Your Landlord must send you a 'Notice Requiring Payment' (i.e. a bill). This Notice will tell you how much to pay, how to pay it, and where to pay it. You should always obtain proof of posting when sending your Ground Rent payment. |

Can my landlord insist that I use his choice of insurer?
If you wish to choose your own insurer, you must serve a 'Notice of Cover' on the landlord within 14 days of taking out/renewing the policy. You must do this every year. You will find a template for the 'Notice of Cover' here. It's a Microsoft Word document which you can save onto your computer and edit according to your own needs. If you do not service a 'Notice of Cover' within the 14 days, the landlord does have the right to nominate an insurer, and you will have to wait until the next year if you wish to change it. |
