Bolton South East MP, Dr Brian Iddon celebrates Lancashire Day - 27th November

27th November 2007

Dr Brian Iddon MP will today celebrate Lancashire Day. It was on this day in 1295 that the first elected representatives from Lancashire were called to Westminster by King Edward I to attend what became known as the “Model Parliament”

To mark Lancashire Day all Lancastrians are encouraged to raise a toast to the County at 9pm on 27th November wherever they are in the world. A number of events to celebrate the day will be held all over the County in the days around 27th November.

Dr Iddon is a Patron of the Friends of Real Lancashire Campaign and will be raising a glass in toast to the County this evening after he has finished taking part in the Housing Bill debate.
