Dr Brian Iddon MP Visits Bolton Drug Action Team to Mark National Tackling Drugs Week |

23rd May 2008 As part of National Tackling Drugs Week Bolton South East MP Brian Iddon has visited his local Drug Action Team to see the work they are undertaking to tackle drug use in Bolton. During the day Dr Iddon met with staff and service users at Bentley House to hear about the work they do and the impact it has on those using the service. Dr Iddon said, “I was really pleased to be able to visit Bentley House as part of National Tackling Drugs Week and to be able to congratulate the staff in person on their recent award for excellent service. As the Chair of the Drugs Misuse All Party Group in Parliament I am very proud to have such a successful Drug Action Team working in my constituency. I was also delighted to be able to open the new Bolton User Group centre and to meet with the service users there and to hear about the impact that groups like this can have on their lives.” Drug and Alcohol Strategy Manager Sandie Saunders said, “We are extremely pleased that Dr Iddon has taken this opportunity to meet with drug workers and service users in order to recognise all the hard work which has taken place with regards to drug treatment services in Bolton. Improving our community based services to help heroin and crack users change their lives remains a priority for us in Bolton”.
